A Finished Quilt

I have a completion. I have a charity quilt that is finished

This quilt was made from my string bin. I sewed all of the strings on used fabric sheets. I must admit it was very nice to smell the strings as I was sewing and pressing.

I used all my mostly blue 2 1/2 inch strips I had in my strip drawer for years. I also used 2 1/2 inch squares for the corner stones from my drawer.  This all fit in nicely with my plan to use strips and squares that I had already cut. I used the baptist fan for the quilting and leftover 2 1/2 blue strips for the binding. It was so nice to also use re-purposed shirts throughout this entire quilt.

These are my quilt models. Cute aren't they!

Rainbow Scrap Challenge-Light Blue

I have been busy sewing together my light blue blocks for the Rainbow Scrap Challenge.

I have 10 of the nine patches.

And 10 string blocks with the bonus 2 1/2 X 6 inch strips.

I will probably not make any more blocks for the Rainbow Scrap Challenge because I have plenty of these blocks to make a quilt from each of them.

I do have my Craftsy blocks to finish but these last two blocks will be made up of multi-colored fabrics and not just one certain color for the month. I will show these two when I get them finished.

This is all for today!

Memories

I not only have a completion we have a memory.

My husband's father past away last November and this summer his brother wanted us to come and get some stuff from the house. Among the things he wanted gone was some clothes of Dad;s. I picked out all the flannel shirts and jackets that he would wear on the deer hunt and decided that a memory quilt was just what was needed.

This quilt is very simple and the main point is show casing the flannel shirts.

Since Ron's Dad wore most of these shirts at deer camp I think it will look great in the trailer.

I used a green and brown variegated thread and the baptist fan for the quilting. This will be a quilt that will be enjoyed by my husband for years to come.

The only other thing I have done this week was make labels for this quilt and 4 other quilts that needed labels

This is all for this all for this week. Keep on Scrappin!

What I am Working on Now

I have a couple of projects that are going on.

I have completed all of the 2-patches into 4-patches that I had ready before deer camp. I have 1,280 4-patches done. These will be used in a number of quilts and I am feeling pretty good about having all of this fabric on the road to new quilts

I also have the memory quilt on the HQ.

I am doing the baptist fan for this quilt. The texture is looking very good. This quilt should be totally done by next week.

I have pulled from my stash the fabrics I have for the new mystery from Bonnie Hunter that will be starting right after Thanksgiving. I have but I am not showing the black with white and the white fabric I have for this quilt. I need to go shopping for some fabric for this quilt though. I do not have enough turquoise or the right color of pink. I also need 2 yards of yellow. I plan to go shopping in a week or two.

So until next time. Keep on Scrappin!
