Some Progress & Great News

I have made a little progress over the last 2 weeks.

I have had this Ginza treadle sewing machine since before we came back from Japan in 1993. It was a gomei (trash find) and I have not been able to figure out how to get it running all these years. Over a year ago I made a tremendous effort to clean up, oil and lube it but was not able to get it to make a fully connecting seam. I had looked and looked on line for a Ginza but there was nothing online to help me. Last Saturday I gave it another go and fiddled with the threading and needle for a little bit and was finally able to get it to make a seam that connected and when I adjusted the seam length it now makes a beautiful seam. I am so excited. I have been treadling on string blocks ever since. This has made my week.

This is my HQ and I have to finish the center of this block and then I will be adding some more small projects to get completed soon.

I have completed the 3rd Quilt of Valor and have pressed and measured it. I will now be spending time putting borders on all three Quilts of Valor. After that I will concentrate on the backings.

This is all I have for now. I will keep on Scrappin!

Slowly Slowly

My weeks get by me so easily. Not sure why but I am scrabbling to get all my inside house chores done before spring jumps in full blast and then all my extra time is spent in the yard.

I am going to show a little progress here and there.

The design wall still has the Quilt of Valor but I only have 8 alternate blocks to make and then I will put this top together. Getting excited about another top being completed.

I have completed two blocks for the mystery quilt Grand Illusion. Yeah! Progress!

I have finished cutting out the strips for the stars and will be continuing to use these blocks as leader enders for now. I have decided who I will be making this quilt for. It will be for  my youngest grand daughter.

I have not done any quilting on the HQ but in the next week or so I will be finishing the many little projects I have waiting there.

I will Keep on Scrappin!
