Grandson's Quilt is Done!

I have finished the quilt I was showing in the last post. All that is left is a label.

This is the first time I have made a fully pieced quilt for a grandson..Leif is the last grandson to get a quilt. He is the youngest grandson.

I didn't have the extra money to buy a center piece of fabric with matching borders this time.

I also just love this pattern. I have used it many times for a Quilt of Valor quilt.

The brown stars are left over from my Smith Mountain quilt and I think the orange rails look great.

This is all I have for this week. It has been a busy week!

This is what else I have going in the Quilt Studio

I have a few other things going on in the Quilt Studio to update on.

This is my grandson's quilt on the HQ. I have two rows left to quilt and then it will be done.

This was on my design wall but it is now all sewn together and is now waiting to be pressed and measured for the borders. Almost finished. Yeah!

This is Floribunda from Bonnie Hunter at Quiltville. I started this just before I went to the Quilt Walk. It will also be a full to queen sized quilt.

And last but not least is my Grand Illusion blocks. I have 3/4s of these blocks finished but it has been on the back burner because of more urgent quilts that needed attention.

This is all I have for this week. I will Keep on Scrappin!

New Quilts Started at Quilt Walk

I am back from the Quilt Walk in Panquitch, UT.

I started two new quilts with the two classes I took there. This first quilt class was all day from 8:30 in the morning until 5:00 in the afternoon. Needless to say I left at 4:00pm. I was so tired from working all day.

This picture is not very good for the pattern but it is called Granny Squares from Moda. Each block ends up making 2 blocks if that makes sense. I made 4 blocks.

I have cut out a ton of fabric. I hope this is all the cutting I will need to do for this quilt. I want it to be between a full and queen size quilt.

This quilt is called Stain Glass. I have 2 sets of 9 blocks ready. This is the first set.

This is the second set but it is not showing very well in this picture. But I do have 9 12 1/2 inch squares ready for the final cuts. I will then put them together the same as I did for the first set but the cuts will be different so this set will look a bit different.  Confusing, huh?!
Anyway the blocks end up around 12 inches finished. I want to make a full to queen size quilt out of this block also.

This is all I have for this post.

Another Completion for 2015

I have another completion for 2015.

This is Miss Lizzy's charity quilt that was started over 2 years ago. I decided it was time for this humble
quilt to be done.

Blogger is giving me some trouble this morning. So the pictures are traveling back and forth.

This quilt was made entirely from stash. Lizzy worked hard on the center of the quilt. I just put on the borders and then quilted it.

This is the quilt on the design wall. It is the 4th and final Quilt of Valor for this year.

This quilt on my HQ is my grandson's quilt for his birthday in July. I will have this all finished before the 1st of July.

This is all I have in the works right now but tomorrow we go to Panqutch,UT to the Quilt Walk and I am signed up for two classes. I will show what these look like when I return.

Time for Summer to Begin

I don't have a completion quite yet but I do have some progress.

This quilt on the design wall is a charity quilt made from Bonnie Hunter called Basket Weave. I made it with strings on used fabric sheets. This quilt smells great. I have a few more rows to sew together then I am on to the borders. I have a pieced border cut off from the blocks in all the colors and I will be using them in the outside border. Can't wait to have this one done.

This is a charity quilt also. It is from my grand daughter Lizzy. She started it over 2 years ago and it is time to get it out the door. I put on completely scrappy borders and I am calling it good. I also pieced the backing for it.

This is my cutting table as of yesterday. I have been cleaning up a bin I had of scraps I had just thrown in the bin this last year. Now they can be used in some more quilts. Yeah!

This is all I have for this week. Keep on Scrappin!
