I have two completions!
I have two baby scrappy charity quilts done!
I was doing purple 4 patches for the Bonnie Hunter mystery quilt and I just kept making them to use up the purple fabric.
I still have more purple 4 patches leftover that will need to go into something else.
They are both backed with the same green fabric.
I quilted them both with the Baptist Fan groovy board.
They are so bright and fun!
I am now working on a couple of other scrappy quilts to put on the HQ.
Keep on Scrappin!

Last Quilt of Valor
I have completed my last Quilt of Valor.
This is a special quilt for our son Luke. He is 100% medically retired from the Army because of Iraq.
I have made him two other quilts beside this one but I wanted to make him one more before I became too old to make him one. I always back my Quilts of Valor with flannel. I bought this piece awhile back when I was planning this quilt.
I will probably give it to him on the 4th of July. It is a special day for us. We start early with a 7:00am Flag Raising and then a mountain man breakfast for everyone. This is another Jenny Doan pattern called Ribbon Star.
I decided to add the yellow stars in the sashing and I am very happy with how they turned out.
I also like the stripe binding. I bought the red border and the binding fabric when I was in Loa last year during the deer hunt. I thought they would look very good for this quilt.
I am very happy with this quilt and I know he will be also.
I am not sure when I will have another completion because the yard is screaming for attention and I can't keep up the pace to do everything.
I will Keep on Scrappin any time I get a chance.

Last Quilt of Big Project
I have completed the last quilt for the Big Project.
This is Emerald Isle from Jenny Doan. This quilt was made from my scraps. I did purchase the background though.
The outside border is a batik I bought at the Quilt Walk in Panquitch last year and it looks great with the colors in the top.
I used a varigated thread from Superior Threads with the Whirlygig panto.
The backing is a beautiful peach colored sheet that I had on hand.
Overall this is a wonderful completion for one of my grand daughters.
I have another quilt completed that I need to write about next.

Huge Complicated Completion
I have a completion!
This quilt has been two years in the making.
The sun was very bright on Monday and so the colors are washed out.
This quilt was a Craftsy class that I purchased the whole kit. It was a Block of the month in 2015.
I started a little late in 2015 and I dragged my feet on it. It is a Jinny Beyer quilt. She is a perfectionist! I am not! So you can imagine my frustration!
Ron wanted me to make this quilt because he knew I wouldn't do it without a push. He purchased the backing from Nuttal's. I pushed for a very dark backing because I didn't want the quilting to show. The cost alone was enough to stop me from doing this quilt at all.
I thought it would be best to use black batting so there would not be any bearding. I custom quilted it. I am not very good at custom quilting! Most of it is OK but there are mistakes every where. I will not point out any of them because most people will not see the mistakes. They just jump out at me.
I am just happy this quilt is done! I finished it last weekend. I loaded another quilt on Monday and it is now quilted and I am doing the hand stitching of the binding. Yeah! I have another quilt loaded on the HQ and hopefully I will have it off early next week.

Jinny likes to hand piece! I do not! There is also paper piecing in this quilt and I don't like doing that much.
