Time for Summer to Begin

I don't have a completion quite yet but I do have some progress.

This quilt on the design wall is a charity quilt made from Bonnie Hunter called Basket Weave. I made it with strings on used fabric sheets. This quilt smells great. I have a few more rows to sew together then I am on to the borders. I have a pieced border cut off from the blocks in all the colors and I will be using them in the outside border. Can't wait to have this one done.

This is a charity quilt also. It is from my grand daughter Lizzy. She started it over 2 years ago and it is time to get it out the door. I put on completely scrappy borders and I am calling it good. I also pieced the backing for it.

This is my cutting table as of yesterday. I have been cleaning up a bin I had of scraps I had just thrown in the bin this last year. Now they can be used in some more quilts. Yeah!

This is all I have for this week. Keep on Scrappin!

Another Completion-2015

I have another completion for 2015.

This is my very large Dresden Plate wall hanging.

I have always wanted to make a very large one. If you click on the picture maybe you can see the beads I hand sewed in the center.

Here is it's home on the wall. I think it fits in nicely!

This is a view of all of them up on the wall. They look better close up.
I do have a couple more in mind to make for this wall.

This all I have for this week.

3rd Quilt of Valor Completed - 2015

I have completed another Quilt of Valor. This is the 3rd of 4 I am going to make this year.

This quilt is very similar to one of the other quilts.

I just upgraded the secondary block to have red and white 4-patches.

I like the looks of this one but it took allot more time to complete the top.

The backing is a nice blue flannel that can be seen in the first picture.

This is all I have for the this week.

Quilts of Valor

I have completed another Quilt of Valor!

I have had a ton of precut 2 1/2 inch squares in a bin for years. So I decided to start sewing some together.

Before I knew it I had 12 of these very large blocks made.

I love the scrappiness of this quilt.

It was a beautiful day to take pictures. I have this quilt washed now and so it is ready to be delivered.
Oh, again I forgot to take a picture of the backing. It is a light grey flannel.

I have started loading the third  Quilt of Valor that I have ready to quilt.

I also have completed webbing the top for my grandson but in the process I turned 4 blocks the wrong way. I have some unsewing to do.

This is all I have for this week.

Wow, Another Completion

I am very pleased to say that I have a completion.

Here it is  when I first loaded it on the HQ.

Here I was about 1/3 of the way done with the quilting.

And here it is all done.

It is a completely scrap quilt. I made this quilt and 3 more like it from just stash.
The only thing I have purchased for these quilts is the flannel backing. Which  I forgot to take a picture of. I will be better with the next one I complete.  This quilt has already been washed and delivered.

This is all for this week.

I Have Two Completions

I am happy to say that I have two completions to show today.

I have finished quilting the baby quilt that has been on my HQ for a while.

I had some problems and tried many different things to fix the shredding thread on top. Finally I took off the thread and replaced it some other thread and it worked just fine. What a frustrating week for this little baby quilt. But now it is done and I am washing it to get it ready to go next week.

This is my hand applique that I have finally finished. It has been almost a year since I started it.

I have another wall hanging that is almost completed but I need to hand sew some beads on before I can hang it on my wall.

That is all for this week.

Hey, Some More Progress

I have a few completions.

This is the spool wall hanging I have made from Jenny Doan's tutorial. I thought I was making it longer but I think this looks just fine. This wall is just behind my HQ and has been almost completely blank since I moved down to my quilt studio a couple of years ago. I think these will make a nice addition to my room.

This is my LeMoyne star I made from my Craftsy class with Laura Nownes. I love the look of this block but I would never make a whole quilt from this star. It is too stressful. This is hanging on my wall also.

I have more that are completed but I will show them later when I have them all on my wall.

I have this on my design wall.

Yes, I know it is only one block but this is a start of my youngest grandson's quilt. These are leftovers from my Smith Mountain Morning quilt and so I want to put these to good use. I will be teaming these with orange and white rails as the alternate block. His birthday is coming up in July.

This is what I have on my HQ. It was going to be a charity baby quilt but now I will be giving it to a friend of my son's who had their first baby this year. I will do very simple quilting on this baby quilt.

Well, this is all for now. I will update later on my progress.
