The next few pictures I have today are just a little of this and a little of that.
This first picture is some fabric I got at a garage sale. This is only about 1/3 of the fabric I got that day because I forgot to take a picture before I sorted and put all the other fabric away. My daughter, two grand daughters (Aurora and Sophia), daughter in law Chelsi along with Dimitri and Katya went with me to the Spanish Fork Quilt A Fair. They had free classes, demonstration, an auction and vendors along with what they called a garage sale. We were looking through all the stuff and I actually bought a couple of zip lock baggies for 1 to 2 dollars.
A lady helping to run the garage sale was making up mystery tins and also a purse. She talked me into buying the new purse for $2 that was stuffed full of surprises. It had tons of fabric, a necklace, blocks and fabric that you cut out to make a jumper. The girls got excited and bought a mystery tin a piece and when we got home we had a bartering session. They wanted some of what I had gotten in my purse and they traded me some fabric to get what they wanted.
I wasn't too sure what I was going to do with these log cabins but I just watched a chicken pin cushion with Jenny Doan where she used log cabin orphan blocks so I am going to try to make a couple of these pin cushions.
I have trimmed these up and have the beck and head dress pined inside. I need to sew them and add a tail and then sew the bottom. I will then fill it with crushed walnuts. It will be fun to see how these turn out.
I have also been making progress on my pie pin cushions.
I started these a while ago and then got side tracked. I need to sew the ruffle edges on by hand and then hot glue them into the little fluted dish. After that I need to make a blueberry and cherry to go on top. I also have an apple pie not showing here but it is almost as far along as these.
Well, this is enough for now.
